Privacy notice
This site collects very little. This page says what, why, who handles it, and how to have it removed. Last updated 29 September 2026.
Who is responsible
The site is run by its maintainer, Yannick Wurm, in his capacity as the person who publishes it (see About). He is the data controller for the mailing list described below. ARIA does not run this site and does not receive data from it.
The mailing list
If you sign up in the “Stay in the loop” form, your email address and the time of sign-up are stored by Beehiiv, the newsletter service that provides the form and sends the emails. Beehiiv processes this on the maintainer’s behalf under its privacy policy. The list is used only to send updates about the Engineering Ecosystem Resilience space: funding calls, results, events and openings. It is not shared with anyone else or used for anything else. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time.
The form is loaded from Beehiiv’s servers, together with Beehiiv’s attribution script. That script exists to record where a sign-up came from (for example, which page held the form) and to do so it may store a cookie or similar identifier in your browser. If you block third-party scripts, the form will not appear and nothing is stored; you can still sign up on Beehiiv’s own site.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from the list; to have your address deleted from Beehiiv’s records as well, ask the maintainer (below).
Hosting logs
The pages are static files served by GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may log the IP address, browser and pages requested for security and operational purposes, under GitHub’s privacy statement. The maintainer does not see these logs.
What the site itself does not do
- It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising scripts.
- It has no accounts, comments or forms other than the mailing-list sign-up.
- It embeds no social-media widgets; links to LinkedIn, Bluesky and aria.org.uk are plain links, and those sites have their own privacy notices.
People named on the site
The site names researchers, team members and ARIA staff with their affiliations and, in some cases, biographies. All of this is reproduced from ARIA’s public pages. If you are named and want a correction or removal, ask the maintainer and it will be done by editing the site.
Your rights and how to ask
Under UK data protection law you can ask what data is held about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent to the mailing list. Message Yannick Wurm on LinkedIn or Bluesky. If you are not satisfied with the response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
